Introduction to Truffle Dog Training

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Chris Ricci will explain the practical steps to becoming a truffle dog/handler team. Nose work is one of the most pleasurable, natural and rewarding activities that dogs can engage in. Their powerful sense of smell can be honed to literally "show us the fungi," particularly truffles, which grow underground and are otherwise undetectable. Chris will discuss these topics plus general nose work for dogs, truffling equipment, clicker training, considerations in truffle hunting, and nose work resources. He and Daisy, a one-year-old heeler mix, will demonstrate their skills
