Topics to be discussed in this presentation include the examination of some interactions of humans and Amanitas from a historical perspective, including the exploration of the supposition “Was Ötzi , the ice-man, killed because he was poaching on someone’s Amanita muscaria patch?”; comments on the ecstasy and agony that can result from the consumption of certain Amanitas; finding the best answer to the often asked question, “Oh look, I have found an Amanita – what do I do now?” and lastly an attempt at answering the question “Will Amanitas be here for my children and grandchildren?”
